The number of Londoners leaving the capital has fallen to the lowest level seen for more than decade, but those that do leave London are moving further than ever before, according to new data published by Hamptons.
Londoners bought 5.7 per cent of homes sold outside the capital this year (50,020 properties) which is 45 per cent (46,200) fewer than in 2021 when London leavers found themselves in the grips of a “race for space” sparked by lockdown measures, remote working and a stamp duty holiday.
