The number of first time home buyers in Scotland has fallen by almost 30% in the last year, figures from the Bank of Scotland have shown.
Its homeowner review showed that in the first half of 2023 there were 10,488 first-time buyers in Scotland, compared to 14,850 – a decrease of 29%.
It is the lowest figure since 2020, when there were 9,600 in the first half of the year, due to the pandemic.
