The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) team is scheduled to board the MV Dali for the first time on Wednesday, as announced by Chair Jennifer Homendy. The team's primary objective during this initial visit will be to search for any electronics present on the vessel that could potentially aid in the ongoing investigation.
At present, investigators are in the process of identifying their initial targets for investigation. This includes determining the individuals who will be interviewed as part of the inquiry, as well as establishing which entities will be involved in the investigative process.
In addition to these investigative steps, the team is also gearing up to examine the structural integrity of the bridge and assess any debris that may have fallen into the Patapsco River or onto the ship itself as a result of the incident.
Chair Homendy further disclosed that among the 24 NTSB investigators currently on-site, a specialized team has been designated to ascertain crucial details such as who was in control of the vessel and who was present on the ship's bridge at the time of the collision.
