NEW DELHI: State-run generation utility NTPC on Friday contradicted the Delhi government’s statement on impending power cuts due to coal shortage, saying all its generation stations supplying the capital were running at full capacity and getting fuel daily.
Ironically, on the day suppliers met a record peak demand of 6,000 MW (megawatts) on Thursday, a Delhi government statement had said, "Due to disruption of power supply from Dadri-II and Unchahar power stations, there may be a problem in 24-hour power supply to many essential institutions, including Delhi Metro and Delhi government hospitals".
