Queensland's quest for victory has been held up by rain and a fightback by NSW batsmen Moises Henriques and Matthew Gilkes on the final morning of the Sheffield Shield clash.
The Blues resumed at 4-96 in their second innings before just under an hour of play was lost due to rain at Sydney's Drummoyne Oval.
Gilkes (21) and Henriques (31) were both unbeaten at lunch after a valuable 51-run stand for the fifth wicket took the Blues to 4-146 at the break.
Most importantly they held up the Bulls bowlers for 123 deliveries and made sure no wickets fell in the pre-lunch session.
Earlier the Blues had made 246 in their first innings and the Bulls replied with 6-477 declared on the back of big scores by opener Matt Renshaw (200) and allrounder Michael Neser (136).
Gilkes and Henriques have gone about their work with common sense, keeping out the good deliveries and taking the chance to score when anything loose presented itself.
Henriques has struck two sixes in his innings and Gilkes pulled the final delivery before lunch off paceman Mark Steketee for six.
