The Treasury-backed savings provider NS&I is poised to begin contacting the estates of deceased customers next week, preparing to disburse hundreds of millions of pounds. This follows admissions that past failures by the organisation meant bereaved families were missing out on savings pots.
NS&I, which describes itself as the UK government savings bank and offers Premium Bonds, will reach out to all affected estates with holdings of £10 or more to reunite them with the full value of funds.
