Newcastle have landed two of Brisbane's biggest stars, Millie Boyle and Tamika Upton, in a key NRLW recruitment move.
Both two-time premiership winners with Brisbane, prop Boyle was a joint winner of the Dally M Medal this season despite missing a game while Upton is regarded as one of the game's most dangerous fullbacks.
The pair will move to Newcastle ahead of the August season start, the Knights still licking their wounds after going winless in five games last season.
"To be able to attract players like Tamika and Millie to the Knights is very exciting for our NRLW team and our members," Knights recruitment boss Clint Zammit said.
"They are both world-class players in their respective positions, who have a real desire to keep improving their games."
Upton said the ability to help the Knights' rise before the competition expands again next year, appealed to her.
"First and foremost I'm coming to Newcastle to get better," she said,
"Everyone I have met here on both the women's and men's sides are invested in ensuring this team becomes a success and I'm looking forward to playing a small part in that."
