The mother of NRL star Payne Haas remains behind bars, accused of killing three people in a horrific head-on collision in the Gold Coast hinterland.
The crash claimed three family members' lives after a vehicle veered onto the wrong side of the road and smashed into an oncoming car at Bonogin on December 30.
Susan Zimmer, 70, her partner Chris Fawcett, 79, and Ms Zimmer's daughter Steffanie, 35, died in the fiery crash.
Sole survivor Uiatu "Joan" Taufua, 46, had to be removed from her Mercedes wagon and was later charged with three counts of manslaughter over the tragedy.
Taufua, 46, was expected to apply for bail as the charges were mentioned in Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
However, high-profile lawyer Leigh Johnson withdrew the application, and the case was set down for committal mention on March 9.
Outside the court, Ms Johnson said Taufua was still recovering from the accident.
"We saw her yesterday. She's doing as well as can be expected," Ms Johnson said.
"She has still got injuries she is recovering from, and of course, this is her family."
Her son has been granted personal leave from the Brisbane Broncos until January 16 as the family grapples with the tragedy.
Ms Johnson declined to reveal if Haas had visited his mother in prison.
Taufua is also charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, evading police and driving without a licence.
Police allege Taufua's Mercedes wagon veered onto the wrong side of the road and crashed head-on into a white Mercedes while fleeing police at Bonogin.
She was on parole at the time of the crash after being sentenced to nine months in prison for assaulting two security guards at the Star Casino.
Her parole has since been revoked, and Taufua returned to the Women's Correctional Centre.
