The Novavax Covid-19 vaccine can be used in Ireland following a recommendation by the National Immunisation Advisory Committee (NIAC) that was accepted by the Health Minister tonight.
Stephen Donnelly accepted new recommendations from NIAC tonight in relation to Ireland’s Covid-19 vaccination programme, which were endorsed by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Tony Holohan.
After the European Medicines Agency (EMA) granted conditional marketing authorisation for Novavax’s Covid vaccine Nuvaxovid (also known as NVX-CoV2373), NIAC recommended that this vaccine can be used in those aged 18 and older here.
