Connell Rawlinson is confident that Notts County can challenge for back-to-back promotions next season after securing passage back to the Football League. The 31-year-old signed a new two-year deal with the Magpies after helping them to promotion from the National League via the play-offs after suffering play-off defeats in the previous three seasons with the club.
Rawlinson believes the introduction of manager Luke Williams, who came in last summer, was the missing piece of the puzzle for County in their pursuit of success and believes they are set up for more in the near future.
He said: “We’ve come on a long way since I first came in. It was always going to take a while to develop the infrastructure under the new owners but, after steady progress in recent seasons, you would probably say that the gaffer’s arrival was the final piece of the puzzle. I think he helped us realise our potential.
