Notts County returned to winning ways against York City thanks to a stunning free-kick from Quevin Castro and a customary double from Macaulay Langstaff.
Following their defeat last weekend, the Magpies started the game with attacking intent and, after Jim O'Brien won a free-kick in a promising position for the Magpies, Castro stepped up and fired a stunning effort in off the post to give the travelling 1734 Notts fans an early reason to celebrate.
Following the goal, the home side grew into the game, with Williams' men unable to get the ball to stick in the final third, with their persistence eventually paid off.

A free-kick into the box was not dealt with again by the Magpies, with the ball falling to Olly Dyson on the left-hand side to cross for Kerr to sweep the ball home for his first goal in York colours.
Having scored because of individual brilliance, Notts produced a brilliant team goal with Aaron Nemane doing well down the right-hand side, with his pinpoint cross to the back post finding Langstaff to head home a customary National League goal.
The visitors nearly doubled their advantage five minutes into the second half with Castro almost turning provider, however his whipped delivery was somehow turned over by the onrushing Adam Chicksen at the back post.
Notts' dominance during the second half eventually paid dividends ten minutes from time with the returning Sam Austin capitalising on a mistake from the York defence and sending through Langstaff, who composed himself before firing the ball beyond Ethan Ross and in front of the travelling supporters.
Following the game, here is how we rated the players following the win...
Sam Slocombe - 6
Could do nothing about the York opener, but his positioning was excellent all afternoon, sweeping up with Notts' defensive line often high. Rarely had anything to do.
Richard Brindley - 7
His presence in the Notts defence was a huge boost for Williams ahead of kick-off, and he was brilliant on his return. He continually looked to break from the back and got his side into good positions when under pressure.
Connell Rawlinson - 7
The pick of the defenders. Martialled the presence of Lenell John-Lewis extremely well all afternoon and was calm and composed throughout.
Kyle Cameron - 7
Despite conceding an avoidable goal from a free-kick, the whole Notts back line was relatively comfortable. It was a composed performance from the skipper, who was dominant in the air throughout.
Aaron Nemane - 7
Was constantly looking to progress forward with the ball, with his pace and trickery causing the York City defence a number of problems. Also provided an inch-perfect assist for Langstaff.
Jim O'Brien - 7
It was another brilliant display in midfield from O'Brien. He kept the game ticking and was keen to help out in attack. His defensive qualities also shone through, producing a number of blocks and tackles all across the pitch.
Matty Palmer - 7
Worked brilliantly alongside O'Brien to keep the game ticking in midfield. Was able to nullify any threat from the York midfield and produced a number of important interceptions during the game.
Adam Chicksen - 6
Was a lot quieter than in recent weeks, with a lot of the Magpies' play coming down the right-hand side. Had the chance to add to his goal tally with a chance in the second half.
Ruben Rodrigues - 6
Not his best display in a Notts shirt. Whilst he was looking to make things happen, more often than not he lost possession but continued to work hard throughout.
Quevin Castro - 8
Played a pivotal role on his first start for the Magpies. His free-kick is up there for goal of the season and the celebration was not bad either. Brilliant performance from the West Brom loanee.
Macaulay Langstaff - 8
His display at York City highlighted his improvement in the build-up of Notts' attacks. Took both his goals extremely well, peeling off at the back post to nod home before timing his run and showing composure for his second. Get him on the plane, Gareth.

Sam Austin - 7
Made an instant impact after coming on with his tireless pressing and managed to get an assist on his return to the matchday squad, placing an inch-perfect pass for Langstaff's second.
Kairo Mitchell - 6
Was a late change for Rodrigues in the final ten minutes.
Cedwyn Scott - 6
Was a late change for Langstaff in the final ten minutes but continued to look more and more comfortable linking the play going forward.
