Notts County player ratings vs Eastleigh: Roberts 'in the mood' and Rodrigues' confidence restored

Notts County beat Eastleigh 2-0 at Meadow Lane to maintain their push for promotion, with goals from the brilliant Cal Roberts and Kyle Wootton.

Here is how Neil Richardson rated the Notts players.

Vitezslav Jaros: The on-loan Liverpool stopper had absolutely nothing to do with Eastleigh totally toothless. 7

Jayden Richardson: A stunning performance from first to last as he linked with Cal Roberts to destroy Eastleigh on the right 9

Richard Brindley: An integral part of Notts’ defence whatever system they employ and produced another fine performance as a central defender, combining poise with pace. 7

Kyle Cameron: The captain produced another committed performance alongside Brindley and his ability to stride forward with the ball and instigate attacks adds an important string to Notts’ bow. 7

Adam Chicksen: Has produced some excellent performances since coming in from the cold after looking second choice to Joel Taylor on the left of Notts’ defence and looked very comfortable in a back four. 7

Ed Francis: Has been in and out of the team but is coming to terms with the physicality of the National League and his range of passing provides so many opportunities for his teammates. 7

Matt Palmer: Was given a rest last weekend when he sat out the FA Trophy win at Halifax and looks to have benefited after another great shift in the engine room today. 7

Ruben Rodrigues: Confidence has been restored after a quiet spell and he was at the heart of much that was good about Notts’ attacking threat. 7

Cal Roberts: A vital component in Notts’ attack and when he is in the mood, as he was today, it’s hard to think of a more exciting talent in the National League. Thoroughly deserved his goal. 9

Kyle Wootton: Should have had more than his one goal today but leads the line selflessly and is always a threat in and around the box. 7

Elisha Sam: His touch for such a big man often catches opponents out but he spurned some great opportunities to add to the goals he has scored recently. 7

Kairo Mitchell (for Sam 71): Could feel aggrieved to be benched after scoring the winner at Halifax last weekend but gave his all when he came on. 6

Aaron Nemane (for Roberts 85): Returning to fitness and the more minutes he gets under his belt the better he will become. 6
