Notts County boss unfazed by fixture changes amid Nottingham Forest and Man United wait

Notts County boss Luke Williams insists he is unfazed by the fact his side have had yet another Saturday 3pm fixture rescheduled ahead of the visit of Dagenham and Redbridge this weekend.

The BT Sport cameras will be at Meadow Lane to broadcast the Magpies' National League clash with Daryl McMahon's side, with the game kicking off at 5:20pm this Saturday.

With Notts currently sitting five points clear at the top of the table, there may be further changes to the fixture list to come as the two-horse race for that one automatic promotion spot continues to heat up.

Notts have not had a home fixture at the usual kick-off time since their 1-0 win over Halifax that started their current seven-game winning run, with their next 3pm fixture on a Saturday at home not until the end of March when they welcome Scunthorpe United to Meadow Lane.

And while Williams considered that the change in the fixture schedule could be looked at as a disadvantage to his side, he called upon the Notts fans to continue to create that hostile atmosphere that has made Meadow Lane a fortress during this campaign.

"I think we can look at it that way, but I don't think we should," said Williams.

"We just need to make sure that it's noisy and hostile at home, and whatever time that they want us to kick-off, it's not a problem.

"As long as we have the right atmosphere in the stadium and the players bring the right energy, then we don't mind."

Following their fixture against the Iron, the Magpies' next Saturday game at 3pm was due to be on April 15 against fellow promotion chasers Woking after the Easter fixtures taking place on Good Friday against Wealdstone, followed by their mouth-watering clash with Phil Parkinson's Wrexham at the Racecourse Ground.

But following an update from the Premier League, neighbours Nottingham Forest's clash with Manchester United has been selected for TV coverage, with the kick-off moving to 5:30pm start time on the same Saturday at the City Ground.

However, if United were to progress from their Europa League play-off second leg with Barcelona this evening, and progress from the round of 16, they would be in action in the competition the preceding Thursday, with the fixture then moving to Sunday, April 16, meaning Notts' game would remain at 3pm on Saturday.
