Notts County boss sends clear message ahead of crunch Bromley clash

Notts County travel to the capital in search of three points which will keep them in the hunt for National League promotion.

Tuesday's 0-0 draw against Wealdstone was the Magpies' first outing since a 2-1 win over Eastleigh in the FA Trophy after their clash with Barnet was called off due to a Covid outbreak in the the Bees squad.

Notts have not lost since a 2-0 defeat at Eastleigh in November and Ian Burchnall's side will be hoping that their unbeaten run will continue on Saturday as they take on Bromley at Hayes Lane.

The home side currently sit fourth in the table on 47 points but the visitors - five points behind in eighth - have two games in hand over them.

Bromley will be a tough nut to crack having conceded just three goals in their last eight matches and are also unbeaten at home since a 2-1 loss against Yeovil in November.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, County boss Burchnall is wary of the threat that his side will face on Saturday.

"They are a team that you have to kill off because they never want to lie down. They are physical, they work hard, they're very strong from set plays and they're very well organised," he said.

"I think what they've done down there is really, really good and that's testament to what Andy Woodman's done and it's a very tough game to go down there against a team that we know is going to be resolute, physical and difficult to break down."

The Notts boss also hopes that his team can regain some of the lost momentum from a stop-start few weeks.

"The players will be frustrated with not playing games especially when your in such a good run.," said Burchnall.

"We had several wins in a row and were climbing the table and then you get stopped in your tracks whilst you're in that good momentum.

"We've just got to find our feet again. We've played some really good games of late. I think back to Dagenham, Southend and the Wrexham game, I think we were fantastic so we know it's there, we've just got to get back into that rhythm and run with it."

Burchnall also believes his side can look at catching league leaders Stockport with the number of games in hand they have.

He added: "They've been absolutely outstanding of late but the reality is we sit six points behind them with two games in hand.

"I think there will be many more surprises before the end of the season so if we can find some consistent form - that's the most important thing."
