Notts County head coach Ian Burchnall says captain Kyle Cameron will not be back "anytime soon" as the defender's hamstring problem is worse than first anticipated.
Cameron needed to be replaced in the first half of the 1-1 draw against Yeovil earlier this month but it was hoped he would be back in contention for the game against Chesterfield at the weekend. But Burchnall says he is going to be out for a little while longer, with the former Torquay defender yet to return to training as he undergoes rehabilitation work.
His former Newcastle team-mate Callum Roberts has also been absent in recent weeks having struggled with illness but is back on the grass as Notts prepare for a crucial month of fixtures in their quest for promotion to the Football League. Burchnall said: "He's (Cameron) not going to be ready anytime soon. He's going to be out a couple of weeks longer than we thought.
"I never really thought he would make the Chesterfield game. It's going to take time and it's probably worse than we first expected. He's not back on the grass yet. As for Cal, he's not ready. He's just building up his training."
