Nottinghamshire pub that used to serve impressive carvery closes

A pub where locals could enjoy an impressive carvery has temporarily shut its doors after the managers decided to step back. The Elwes Arms, in Carlton, had been run for at 15 years by Beccy Webster - who at the time of taking over became the country's youngest landlady at just 18.

She was responsible for expanding the popular Sunday carvery to weekdays and the wide selection of roasts was praised by customers. But Beccy quit during the pandemic, in September 2020. She continues to run the Gedling Inn, which she took over in 2019.

After her departure new managers were brought in to run the pub in Oakdale Road. However, the couple decided to leave earlier this month.
