Trent Bridge was cordoned off and closed on Monday night, April 24, after reports of concerns for a woman's safety. Nottinghamshire Police received calls shortly after 8pm and closed the road before the incident was "safely resolved" by 10.15pm.
The road reopened not long after. Police vehicles were pictured late last night following reports of disruption for motorists and Nottingham City Transport (NCT) bus services.
NCT diverted services via Radcliffe Road, Lady Bay, Meadow Lane and London Road, before re-joining their normal routes. A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said: "Officers were called to reports of concerns for a woman’s safety shortly after 8pm yesterday (Monday 24 April 2023).
"The bridge was closed while the incident was dealt with. The incident was safely resolved by 10.15pm and the road was reopened shortly after.
"We’d like to thank members of the public for their patience while officers dealt with this incident."
An NCT tweet posted at around 9pm last night read: "Trent Bridge has been closed for services towards Nottingham. Services will divert via Radcliffe Road, Lady Bay, Meadow Lane & London Road, before re-joining their normal routes."
