A Nottinghamshire McDonald's has unveiled a major revamp plan which includes a 'fast forward' booth to serve customers faster. Designs for improvements to be made to McDonald's branch on Kings Mill Road East, Sutton in Ashfield, have been submitted to Ashfield District Council.
Planning documents explain the fast food chain is looking to remove and replace large parts of the restaurant. Regular customers would notice some distinct differences if the plans are approved, with the existing entrance lobby to be replaced and two new access doors added.
The existing shop front and windows would also be removed and replaced, as well as some cladding and a wall. Drive thru booths would also be replaced as part of the renovation, with drivers set to benefit from a widened lane and new kerb lines.

Another new aspect would be an added booth for what the eatery calls a 'fast forward booth'. McDonald's has previously explained these new booths allow customers to pull forward to a third booth if there is a small delay in the order, rather than driving through the drive thru lane.
The planning application, submitted on behalf of McDonald's Restaurants Ltd, was validated by Ashfield District Council on May 16. The application is pending consideration by the council.
