Today (June 17) is set to be the hottest day of the year so far in the UK as temperatures of around 34C are expected. Weather conditions all week have been full of sunshine and warmth thanks to high pressure which has circled around the country.
Temperatures during the week have already hit 2022 highs with Northolt in west London seeing the mercury rise to 29.5C yesterday. And while London is expected to get the warmest temperatures again today, the Met Office has forecast most of England and Wales will bask in conditions ranging between 27C and 30C.
In Nottinghamshire, temperatures are set to slightly buck that trend and peak a bit higher at around 31C this afternoon. Going on into the evening, temperatures will remain high, staying in the 20s until 11pm, according to the Met Office.
