Nottinghamshire GP practice with 4,400 patients to close

A Nottinghamshire GP practice with more than 4,400 patients is set to close. Dr Kaistha, who runs Riverbank Medical Services in Warsop, served notice on his GP contract this month.

The notice period required is three months. Nottinghamshire NHS said it was working on plans to transfer patients, who should receive a letter in June informing them where they should go.

It said they did not need to take action, with the practice still able to see patients. "We are currently working through plans to transfer patients’ registration to an alternative GP practice which will be closer to their home address," Nottinghamshire NHS said in a statement.

"Once the process has been finalised, patients will receive a letter about their new practice and how they can access GP services. Patients do not need to take any action at this current time and can continue to contact Riverbank for their healthcare needs.

"Anyone who needs further help or has any concerns can contact NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire’s Patient Experience Team on 0115 8839570 during office hours or email nnicb-nn.patientexperience@nhs.net"

There are 4,423 patients currently registered at Riverbank. Patients are set to receive a letter by 14 June letting them know the details of their new practice.
