Nottinghamshire's fire service have issued a warning to drivers after an engine struggled to pass through some parked cars. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service says a crew were in Eastwood carrying out community safety visits on Friday (September 23).
But sharing details about a challenge faced by the team whilst driving their fire engine through the area, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue urged drivers to think about access for emergency vehicles. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue said in a statement about the incident: "Today in Eastwood while carrying out community safety visits our crews came across these double parked cars.
"Please consider access for emergency vehicles when parking. Luckily, we were attending a non-emergency home visit this time, so the delay wasn't life threating."

The fire service guidance on parked cars reads: "If a fire engine can't get down your street due to parked vehicles, this will cost us vital time in responding to emergencies." Among the instructions issued by the service are not parking too close to corners and remembering the three-metre rule when parking opposite another vehicle.
