Nottingham pub's family-friendly fan zone moves a step closer

Plans for an all-weather family-friendly fan zone outside a popular Nottingham pub are taking shape. Close to Nottingham Forest's City Ground, and even closer to Notts County's Meadow Lane home, the Trent Navigation was granted planning permission earlier this month to put up a permanent structure at the side of the pub.

And it has now made an licensing application to sell alcohol at a new outside bar. The area has previously been an open-air fan zone where punters have been able to drink but they've had to buy beer inside the pub in Meadow Lane.

For Euro 2020, tables and chairs were laid out in the car park of the pub as fans roared on The Three Lions. A large all-weather screen showed the matches and the screenings coincided with a beer festival, and there was also an outdoor trailer bar and barbeque as Gareth Southgate's side got to the final.
