More than 50,000 people were in the queue for Peter Kay tickets at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham almost immediately after they went on general sale on Saturday morning, November 12. The current wait time in the queue on the Arena's website is 'more than an hour'.
The Bolton comedian, and all round national treasure, is performing in Nottingham on Friday, July 14, and Saturday, July 15, next year. Officials at the Arena, in Bolero Square, say the demand has been 'phenomenal' as they warned not everyone trying to book tickets for the two dates will be successful.
Bosses told fans to create an account via the Arena's website, and to have tried logging in beforehand to have the best chance in joining the long online queue for tickets on Saturday morning. Fans have been sharing their experience on Twitter, and some said tickets had "almost gone".
