Nottingham's Victoria Bus Station has closed as police deal with a major incident in the city centre. Operator trentbarton confirmed that the station on York Street is shut as several roads around the city have been closed by Nottinghamshire Police.
In a post early on Tuesday (June 13), trentbarton said: "There has been a police incident in Nottingham City Centre this morning, and Victoria Bus Station and Parliament Street are closed, so is Ilkeston Road. All of our services are diverting.
"Our information is that the closures will be in place for some time. Traffic in the city is expected to be really heavy and likely to cause delays to all services in the area, so please bear with us."
Chief Inspector Neil Humphries, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Officers are currently on scene at multiple road closures due to an ongoing incident. Please avoid these areas as they are expected to remain closed for some time."
