Three hours of thundery showers could hit parts of Nottingham today (Monday, June 12) as the hot temperatures continue. A Met Office yellow 'be aware' warning is in place from noon until 9pm.
The Met Office said 'torrential downpours' could lead to the flooding of homes and businesses 'quickly', with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds. Temperatures could reach as high as 27C.
There could also be power cuts and delays and cancellations to bus and rail services, the Met Office added. Temperatures are expected to rise from around 19C at 8am to 25C at noon.

BBC Weather has forecast three hours of thundery showers for Nottingham. Its forecast shows they are expected from 3pm until 6pm.
The morning will see a mix of sunny spells and patchy cloud. Heavy showers and thunderstorms will gradually develop through the afternoon and it will feel very warm.
