Nottingham Forest secured an unlikely point as Chris Wood’s late equaliser wrecked Manchester City’s hopes of returning to the top of the Premier League.
City looked set to go top again after Arsenal’s lunchtime win over Aston Villa when they went ahead through Bernardo Silva’s first-half strike. But a string of missed chances after the break, including two from Erling Haaland, proved costly and Wood’s first goal for Forest in the 84th minute saw them take a point.
The point has been greeted with both delight and surprise by Forest fans, with many praising January signing Wood, who has come in for criticism for his early performances since arriving from Newcastle United.

Kieron Farrell: If only we got in their faces from the start. What a point though.

Sam Lee: Where's the Chris Wood haters now?
Phil Thompson: Things happen for us when we get the ball, keep possession, pass more accurately and go on the attack! What a point this is when no-one was expecting anything other than a loss!
Tania Walker: Well done Forest! Draw as good as a win!!
Ricky Burgess: Those last few minutes reminded me off the playoff final.
Neil Treece: Wonderful point, maybe not pretty but Cooper had a plan which worked. Wonder if we'll still be last shown on MotD lol...
Hanson Tel: That’s a fantastic result for Forest, wow, well played to every single player. Warriors COYR.
Paul Green: How much is that Chris Woods goal worth?
Mark Brown: Hey, that Wood fella looks fairly good.
