Nottingham Forest reportedly tried to sign Palmeiras starlet Giovani in the January window.
That's according to ESPN Brasil, who claim that Forest offered the forward a six-month loan, with an option to buy. However, the offer is said to have not "pleased" the Palmeiras hierarchy, nor the player's agent at the time.
Giovani came through Verdao's academy and made his senior debut in November 2021 under boss Abel Ferreira. He has since caught the eye of European clubs, with Everton and Newcastle said to be monitoring his development.

Brazilian journalist Joao Falcade, who addressed the interest in Giovani, said: "Palmeiras understands that Giovani has a long journey to go with the club and a sale is not being considered at this time." The 19-year-old forward is under contract until 2026.
Forest could look to do more business with Palmeiras in the future, however, having recently signed duo Gustavo Scarpa and Danilo from them in the last transfer window.
