Renan Lodi is said to be training with Atletico Madrid’s academy players amid claims Nottingham Forest want to bring him back to the City Ground.
The 25-year-old Brazilian defender played a key role as the Reds clinched survival in the Premier League on their return to the top-flight last season.
On loan from Atletico for the entire campaign, Lodi played in 28 league games and proved to be a big hit at the club before returning to Spain at the end of the campaign.

Lodi’s agent Pablo Miranda spoke about the left-back’s future earlier this summer, saying: “Renan's goal is to compete at the highest level.
“Many Brazilian players suffer in their first season in England and end up not playing. Renan was instrumental in Nottingham's stay in the Premier League and has everyone's recognition for what he did during that season.
“That said, his goal is to continue playing in high-level competitions, if possible, return to the Champions League and compete for titles again.”
Despite Miranda suggesting a return to Forest was not in the player’s plans, it is understood the Reds have not given up hope of trying to clinch a deal. And it appears Lodi’s days in Madrid are numbered, with the player being spotted training separately to the Atletico first team squad during pre-season.
