Nottingham Forest have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid left-back Renan Lodi.
There have been contrasting reports in recent days, with some suggesting that Forest were in talks over a move for their former loanee, while another claimed he would 'soon' by joining French club Marseille.
Forest are said to be keen on signing the 25-year-old permanently after his successful loan spell last season, which saw him play 28 games in the Premier League as the Reds finished 16th.

Lodi's form appeared to attract the attention of Marseille, though it has now been reported they will 'not insist' on his signing because the asking price set by Atletico is too high for them. That's according to Spanish journalist Andrés Onrubia Ramos of Diario AS.
He tweeted: "Very distant positions between Atlético de Madrid and OM by Renan Lodi. Despite the interest in the left-back, the French team will not insist on his signing, considering the price set by the rojiblancos for the player to be expensive."
It is unclear what the fee being asked for Lodi is, but Forest reportedly had an option to buy Lodi for €30m (£24m) this summer. That clause has expired, though, so Forest have been keen to negotiate that fee down.
