Nottingham Forest told transfer stance as manager confirms high-level talks

Hull City manager Liam Rosenior has hinted that the club would be open to negotiate a potential summer deal for Nottingham Forest-linked defender Jacob Greaves.

The 22-year-old has caught the eye with his performances in the Championship so far this season. Greaves has made a total of 34 league appearances for the Tigers this term, scoring four goals. Forest are said to be one of the clubs eyeing a potential summer move for the centre-back. They do however face competition from the likes of Aston Villa and Brentford.

Greaves did however sign a long term contract with Hull just a few months ago, meaning that his deal with the club runs until 2026. It means that the Tigers could demand a big fee for the player should clubs come calling in the summer.

Rosenior has previously spoken about Greaves’ future, where he opened up the possibility of a summer sale. The Hull boss has again addressed the summer window, where he again hinted that a deal could be on the cards, should any offer suit the club.

“We always plan in terms of our recruitment for the summer and what we want to do,” he said, via HullLive .

"I'm in constant communication, especially with Tan (Kesler, vice chairman) about where we go and what we look at. In terms of players we sell, that's the nature (of the business) and it's not in our control.

"I'm not planning to sell anyone and nor is Tan. If an offer comes in, then that's when you start to negotiate and see if it's right for the club or not."

Hull and Greaves are back in Championship action this weekend when they take on Coventry City at the Coventry Building Society Arena on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers currently sit in 13th place in the Championship table.
