Nottingham Forest to 'confirm' double swoop but Blackpool set to win Josh Bowler transfer battle

Nottingham Forest are set to confirm the double arrival of Stoke City striker Sam Surridge and Dijon defender Jonathan Panzo but face missing out on Blackpool's Josh Bowler.

The Reds are understood to have agreed a fee of around £2m for Potters forward Surridge with his announcement expected tonight and are also set to clinch Panzo's signature as he completed the formalities of his switch earlier this evening.

But Blackpool have rejected all bids for Bowler as Forest also chased Millwall's Jed Wallace - and both players now look set to stay until the end of the season.

Posting an update on Forest's search for a winger, Telegraph journalist John Percy Tweeted: " #nffc to confirm signings of Sam Surridge & Jonathan Panzo, but barring unexpected late drama will not be signing a winger.

"Blackpool FC have rejected a number of bids for Josh Bowler and insist he will stay. Millwall have also turned down offers for Jed Wallace."

Forest had been hoping to add a winger to the squad before the deadline but despite missing out have enjoyed an excellent January window.

Keinan Davis has arrived on loan from Aston Villa, while Steve Cook signed from Bournemouth and was then followed by Richie Laryea from Toronto FC.

The additions of Surridge and Panzo further strengthen Forest who have allowed Joao Carvalho to leave for Olympiacos while striker Lyle Taylor has joined Birmingham City on loan until the end of the season.

Carl Jenkinson has also left for Melbourne City FC.
