Nottingham Forest striker pursuit hits stumbling block amid £25m transfer demand

Nottingham Forest transfer target Emmanuel Dennis' future remains "up in the air" as clubs circle the Watford star.

The £25million-valued front man was one of the Hornet's stand-out players in their Premier League relegation campaign last season. Since the club's return to the Championship, the 24-year-old has been subject of interest from a several clubs alongside Forest, including West Ham, Southampton and Everton.

The Express reports that those clubs have held discussions with Dennis' agent Drew Uyi over a potential deal. However, the club's valuation of the player has been deemed high, given the Nigeria international was signed for just £3m from Club Brugge last summer.

It states that this has stopped them from making a "concrete offer" for the striker. Steve Cooper, meanwhile, is on the lookout for a new man to operate alongside new signing Taiwo Awoniyi in attack following the departure of Lewis Grabban.

Forest have also been linked with a return for Keinan Davis, who enjoyed a successful loan spell from Aston Villa last term.
