Nottingham Forest eased into the third round of the Carabao Cup as they beat Grimsby Town 3-0 at Blundell Park.
Although boss Steve Cooper had changed his entire starting XI, he still named a strong line-up against the Mariners. And a comfortable first half saw his team 2-0 up at the break.
Forest could have been ahead with just five minutes on the clock. An inviting cross from Alex Mighten found Emmanuel Dennis in the box, but the front man could only fire wide.

Double transfer blow
Nottingham Forest are reportedly 'not close' to reaching an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur to sign either Sergio Reguilón or Japhet Tanganga amid links to the pair of defenders.
Neither have featured for Spurs so far this season under head coach Antonio Conte, with Reguilón yet to feature in a matchday squad and Tanganga only an unused substitute for the previous two Premier League fixtures against Chelsea and Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Reds are being linked with a host of defenders due to injuries suffered by summer signings Moussa Niakhaté and Omar Richards already since arriving.
Any move for Spain international Reguilón is said to be on a temporary basis with Forest 'exploring a loan' but Italian outfits Atalanta and Lazio as well as Villarreal in his homeland are also apparently keen. Tanganga is also reportedly attracting interest from Italy, with AC Milan and Napoli linked as are Forest's fellow newly promoted side Bournemouth.
Olympiacos loan eyed
Nottingham Forest are reportedly closing in on their 17th signing of the summer transfer window with a €5million deal apparently 'agreed' with Bordeaux to sign South Korea international striker Hwang Ui-jo.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are another Premier League club that have been credited with an interest in the 29-year-old. Hwang was not involved in the matchday squad as the recently-relegated side drew 0-0 with Grenoble in the French second-tier on Sunday night.
Since finishing rock-bottom of Ligue 1 last season, in a campaign that saw Hwang finish as the club's top goalscorer with 11 as well as assisting another two, the striker has featured for just 20 minutes of action across two separate substitute appearances this month. Should a transfer be completed, though, Reds fans apparently shouldn't expect to see their 17th signing in action at the City Ground anytime soon.
