Nottingham Forest set to switch kit suppliers in 'lucrative sponsorship deal'

Nottingham Forest are reportedly set for "the biggest sponsorship agreement in their history" as they look to switch kit suppliers to Adidas which they wore during the club's European Cup winning days.

Macron have have been supplying the Reds kit for the last five years and reportedly had an agreement to remain with the Italian manufacturer until 2025. But according to claims in the Athletic, Forest are negotiating a lucrative sponsorship deal for Adidas to supply their kits next season and return to the look from their glory years under Brian Clough.

They claim that the club are preparing to switch kit suppliers, with an early release from the Macron deal. They also claim the deal would be the club's biggest ever sponsorship agreement.

Clough’s teams wore the three stripes of Adidas when they won back-to-back European Cups in 1979 and 1980. The report claims that the new arrangement is likely to start with a home kit that is reminiscent of Forest's most celebrated era.

The Reds have had the logo of UK for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, on the front of their shirts since January after beginning the season without a shirt sponsor. The club said it was “a sign of solidarity for families who have been forced to flee their homes and communities”.

Forest's Premier League status for next season is far from secure with Steve Cooper's team currently sitting in the bottom three after Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Aston Villa. They are next in action on Sunday against Manchester United at the City Ground.
