Newcastle United supporters are feeling confident after finding out that they will host Nottingham Forest at St James' Park on the opening day of the Premier League season.
The Reds will travel to the North East on the first weekend in August to play their first top-flight match for 23 years against Eddie Howe's side, who eventually avoided relegation with ease last season. Nouveau riche Newcastle eventually finished 11th after spending more than £100 million during the January transfer window after a Saudi Arabia-backed takeover and are expected to recruit further ahead of the meeting with Forest.
