Nottingham Forest have reportedly "started" to scout New York Red Bulls left-back John Tolkin.
The 20-year-old came through Red Bull's academy set-up before breaking through to the first-team at the age of 18. He has since gone on to rack up 66 appearances for the MLS side, and his performances have apparently attracted interest from Europe.
According to reports coming out of America, the defender has attracted big interest from Austria, Belgium and Germany. The "biggest interest" is apparently from Salzburg, while Leipzig are "trying" to convince him there is a future in the Bundesliga side.

The report also highlights there are other suitors in Europe, including Forest who have "started scouting" though it is "unclear how serious" it is at this stage. Tolkin agreed to a four-year contract extension last October and the deal will run through to 2027, including an option to extend it for a further year.
Head coach Gerhard Struber previously said of Tolkin: "He is an extremely talented young defender that brings energy to our backline, and we are pleased to keep him with us."
