The Premier League have confirmed Nottingham Forest’s 25-man squad, following the closure of the summer transfer window.
Top-flight clubs were required to submit squad lists after the end of the window, with each team permitted no more than 17 players who do not fulfil the “Home Grown Player” criteria. Under-21 players (born on or January 1, 2001) do not count towards the 25-man total - in the Reds’ case Brennan Johnson, Neco Williams and Loic Mbe Soh among the first-team group.
The limits imposed mean midfielder Cafu and striker Lyle Taylor missed the cut for Forest. The Reds also still have Harry Arter as a senior player still on the books, but he has not been part of the first-team set-up for some time.

Forest brought in 22 players during the summer window. Aurier became their most recent, and final, addition when he put pen to paper as a free agent last week.
Steve Cooper’s side have picked up four points from their first six Premier League games, leaving them 19th in the table. They host fellow promoted side Fulham on Friday night, and will be aiming for a positive result in their final match before the upcoming international break.
Cafu and Taylor both played a part in the Reds' promotion success last season. The former made 20 appearances and scored a penalty in the play-off semi-final shootout against Sheffield United to help clinch a place at Wembley. He has spent two years at the City Ground, making a loan move from Olympiacos permanent in February 2021.
Taylor spent the second half of last term on loan at Birmingham City, but his added-time brace at Bristol City almost 12 months ago was one of the standout moments of Forest's campaign. As with Cafu, his contract is due to expire next summer, while Arter's runs out in 2024.
