Nottingham Forest request more play-off final tickets as fans face Wembley disappointment

Nottingham Forest have asked for more play-off final tickets but fans still hoping to be in the Reds end at Wembley face disappointment.

Forest face Huddersfield Town at Wembley on Sunday for a place in in the Premier League next season. The Reds sold their full allocation of around 36,500 tickets on Tuesday and NottinghamshireLive understands they have asked for a further allocation, however, it is fully expected no more will be made available.

Forest reached the play-off final for the first time in their history after Cooper’s side saw off Sheffield United to book their place in the final and put them 90 minutes away from ending their 23-year top-flight exile.

They triumphed on penalties on a dramatic night at the City Ground last Tuesday. The Terriers overcame Luton Town over two legs to set up a monumental clash in the English capital this weekend.

Tickets have been selling fast for the tie, but demand has far outstripped supply with fans queuing for hours at the City Ground and anxiously refreshing web browsers. Every last ticket made available to Forest fans has now been sold, the club confirmed on Tuesday. Huddersfield are yet to sell out their allocation.
