Nottingham Forest 'receive loan offer' for Gustavo Scarpa amid transfer claims

Besiktas have submitted a loan offer for Nottingham Forest midfielder Gustavo Scarpa, it is claimed.

The 29-year-old arrived at the City Ground in January but has made just 10 appearances for the Reds due to a combination of injury issues and personal problems back home in Brazil.

His most recent appearance for Steve Cooper's side came in Forest's 2-1 defeat at Leeds back in April. He is yet to score or provide an assist for the Reds.

And Turkish daily Takvim (via Skorer), claim that Besiktas have submitted a loan offer for the Brazilian which "includes an option to buy clause."

Scarpa has struggled to adapt to English football although the player himself admitted that his lack of game time is "normal" having arrived in a new country.

“I was surprised because everything happened so fast, starting to play, having opportunities. Now I’m having a little less, but I think it’s normal, everyone goes through it, I’ve been through it myself a few times in Brazil,” he said in March.

Previous reports have also claimed that there is "no chance" of Gustavo Scarpa leaving the City Ground. The playmaker was spotted at the training ground of former club Palmeiras in May, fuelling speculation that he could be set for a return.

And quotes by journalist Jorge Nicola on his Youtube channel translated by Sportwitness claimed there was "no chance" of him returning as he claims that the 29-year-old is still fulfilling his dream in Europe.

It is also claimed that Scarpa plans to stay in English football "for at least one or two more seasons", to try and fully settle in at the Reds.
