Nottingham Forest may have received a boost in their hope of bringing Djed Spence back to the City Ground this summer, with Tottenham reportedly eyeing other targets.
Spence caught the eye during a loan spell with Forest where he was one of Steve Cooper ’s stand-out players as they won promotion back to the Premier League. The wing-back signed on a season-long loan from Middlesbrough last summer.
It is suggested that Middlesbrough are looking for a fee of around £16 million to make the move permanent this summer. The defender’s performances for Forest means that there are now a number of clubs who are said to be interested in making a summer move.

One of the clubs to be the most heavily linked is Tottenham Hotspur. It is said that head coach Antonio Conte has been promised funds in order to build his squad to play Champions League football next season.
However, according to reports in Spain, Tottenham could have turned their attention to another target. As reported by AS Sport , Spurs are now rivalling Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid for the transfer of Shakhtar Donetsk full-back Dodo.

The 23-year-old is highly sought after around Europe, with Tottenham reportedly turning to him in their search for a right-back. Should they act on their interest then it could be good news for Forest.
Speaking after the play-off final, Spence himself outlined his desire to return to the City Ground in the Premier League next season. [This club] means everything to me," Spence said. "I've come here and the fans and gaffer have both taken me in. We lose together and win together. We're going up together. This means everything to me,” he told NottinghamshireLive .
