Nottingham Forest petition launched ahead of Liverpool FA Cup clash

A petition has been launched to show Nottingham Forest's FA Cup tie against Liverpool on a big screen in Old Market Square.

Forest fan Sean Johnson set up the petition to ensure those who can't get a ticket to the match can still enjoy the "feel-good factor" around the city.

The FA Cup quarter-final will take place at the City Ground on Sunday, March 20 and will kick off at 6pm.

Liverpool have claimed their full allocation of tickets, meaning their fans will fill the Lower Bridgford Stand and create increased demand for tickets in the home end.

On the Change.org petition page, fan Sean Johnson writes: "The feel good factor has very much returned to Nottingham!! As Forest aim to reach the Premier League for the first time in 22+ years, a new belief has gripped the city which has spilled out into the FA Cup!

"Forest have a dream home tie against Liverpool on Sunday the 20th of March. Demand for tickets is expected to soar which means a lot of fans will be watching from home.

"Nottingham Forest have not been in a position such as this since 1996. Why not facilitate a way to show our collective support in the city??? Let's get a big screen set up on Old Market Square! A way to unite as fans and to show our support!"
