Nottingham Forest on transfer red alert over goal machine after agent comments

Nottingham Forest transfer target Artem Dovbyk's agent Alexey Lundovsky has claimed that the centre-forward "would like to play in England" after confirming interest from the country in his client.

The Ukraine international has scored 16 goals in all competitions this season on the back of a summer of significant interest in the player. Dovbyk, 25, was linked with moves to the likes of Burnley and Brentford as well as the Reds, who Lundovsky claimed were to be in negotiations with Dnipro-1 over the player.

There was also apparently overseas interest in Italy from Bologna and Torino. Lundovsky has name-checked England and Italy as the two destinations of interest for Dovbyk.

“You saw that (bids of) seven or eight million euros were mentioned," Lundovsky told FanDay. “Now, Dnipro will not even look at such an amount.”

“Now, when he is again the Ukrainian Premier League ’s top scorer and reinforced this with his performances in European competition, his price will clearly be higher than in summer. In the strongest leagues in Eastern Europe, there are no homegrown forwards of his age who have scored so consistently over the past two years. Dovbyk scored 40 goals during this time.

“I can assure you that there is interest from England, Italy, France, Turkey, and Belgium. Artem himself would like to play in England or Italy. And clubs in these leagues can pay the amount required for his transfer.”

Lundovsky adds: “I am glad that interest in Dovbyk is consistently high. (The interest) is growing after a strong half-season. The interest has only increased.”
