Nottingham Forest academy graduate Oli Burke has completed a transfer to Bundesliga side Werder Bremen.
The 25-year-old has joined the German club from Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee, having spent the second half of last season out on loan at Millwall. Burke will now play in the Bundesliga for a second time after joining RB Leipzig from Forest back in 2016.
He came through the academy ranks at Forest, making his debut in 2014-15 and made 31 appearances over three seasons before joining the German club. There he made 25 Bundesliga appearances in the 2016-17 season before returning to England with West Brom, who were then in the Premier League, and suffered relegation.

His career has had its ups and downs since then. He joined Sheff United from West Brom in September 2020, only making 36 appearances before his latest move was confirmed. Below is a look at how some fans have reacted.
@mariknackered : Fawaz did many things wrong, but getting £20m for Appiah and Burke wasn’t bad.
@Fitty23 : I was gutted when Forest cashed in on Burke, it now looks like the best thing Fawaz did for our club!!
@AshleyLBooker : In hindsight, the £13m we got for Oli Burke was the best bit of business Fawaz did in his time as owner of #NFFC. Am I right in saying there was no sell-on cause which attracted criticism at the time?
@JamesL25 : Can help but think what could have been in Fawaz hadn’t sold Oli Burke to Leipzig
@OffTrack94 : Loved Burke at Forest but since then... wow, how has he got a move to Werder Bremen???
