Nottingham Forest man identified as transfer 'target' as midfielder stance outlined

Fenerbahce could reignite their interest in Nottingham Forest defender Loic Mbe Soh in January.

The Turkish side made a late push to sign the 21-year-old before their transfer window closed last Thursday. But although a deal didn’t come off, it seems they still haven’t given up hope of securing his signature at some point.

Reports in Turkey say the club have “already started their work” for the winter window. According to Fanatik, their focus will be on two players who had been on their radar but who they did not sign in the summer - with Mbe Soh identified as one, along with fellow centre-back Adamo Nagalo, who plays for Danish outfit Nordsjaelland.

Transfer stance

A January switch to Nottingham Forest looks unlikely for Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Bakayoko has been frozen out at AC Milan where he is into the second year of a loan deal from Chelsea.

The 28-year-old has yet to make a first-team appearance this term for the Rossoneri and there were rumours linking him with a return to the Premier League.

Forest and Newcastle were both said to be interested but with nothing materialising and the UK window now closed, it appeared Greece would provide an escape route.

Mixed fortunes

Nottingham Forest’s summer overhaul saw a number of players depart as well as arrive at the City Ground.

Incomings and outgoings made for a busy transfer window right up until the deadline. While some of those who moved on did so on permanent deals, several headed out on loan.

For many, it was hoped doing so would provide a chance to get regular game time. We take a look at how those Reds players currently plying their trade elsewhere are getting on.

Ethan Horvath: Eager to play as he looks to secure a place in the USA squad for the World Cup, the goalkeeper has been first-choice for Luton Town so far. In eight Championship appearances he has kept two clean-sheets and conceded eight goals, with the Hatters sitting 18th in the table.

Target's new deal

Lyon want to discuss a new deal with Houssem Aouar after Nottingham Forest's attempts to sign him in the summer transfer window.

Aouar was heavily linked with a move to the City Ground over the summer but there was no late move to the East Midlands for the Lyon midfielder. According to French newspaper L'Equipe, Aouar "reached an agreement" with Forest, but Lyon rejected a trio of bids from Forest for the 24-year-old, the last of those being in the region of €15million.

In an update on Aouar's future, according to Foot Mercato, Lyon want to discuss a new deal with Aouar before January. On the table would be a two-year extension to his current terms.

Aouar has only featured once for Lyon in Ligue 1 so far this term, in a 30 minute cameo during the win over AC Ajaccio on the opening day of the campaign. He since returned to the bench in Lyon's last game, a 2-1 defeat at Monaco.
