Josh Bowler is eager to make the most of a loan spell at Olympiacos, after signing for Nottingham Forest on deadline day.
The Reds had been chasing the winger for some time, doing their best to prise him away from Blackpool during the January transfer window. Their pursuit finally came to an end last Thursday, with Bowler penning a “long-term contract” at the City Ground.
The 23-year-old immediately headed out on loan and will spend the season in Greece, at fellow Evangelos Marinakis -owned side Olympiacos. And he is determined to seize the opportunity to impress.

Transfer decision
Lyon president Vincent Ponsot has explained why Nottingham Forest summer target Houssem Aouar remained at the club, despite being subject of interest throughout the transfer window.
The 24-year-old was heavily linked with a move to the City Ground, and Forest were looking to complete a late move for the midfielder. Reports claimed that the Reds already had an agreement in place, despite Lyon rejecting three bids throughout the window.
The two sides were reportedly £4.2million apart in their valuation, with Forest willing to pay £8.5m, while Lyon were looking for a fee of around £12.7m. Alongside Forest, Leicester City, Crystal Palace and Real Betis had also apparently expressed an interest.
"He did not find the right club," Ponsot explained as to why he remained at the Groupama Stadium. "Once it was on his side, another on ours but we worked on good terms with him and his advisors."
Leeds' lessons
Former Nottingham Forest striker Patrick Bamford has warned Leeds United have to learn lessons quickly as they prepare to come up against his old club.
Both teams go into next Monday’s clash at Elland Road without a win in three Premier League games. The Reds suffered a second half collapse to fall 3-2 at home to Bournemouth on Saturday, having previously been toppled by Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City. Their opponents have lost to Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford, with a draw at Everton sandwiched in between.
Boss Jesse Marsch accused the officials of a “lack of respect” after Ivan Toney’s hat-trick downed his side at the weekend, hitting out at the use of VAR against the Bees. But Bamford, who stepped up his comeback from injury by playing 45 minutes, says improvements are needed ahead of facing Forest, after Leeds got back into the game at 2-1 at half-time, only to lose 5-2.
“The performance wasn’t where we wanted it to be,” he told the club website. “You always say each game is a learning curve, but we can’t get back into the game and throw it away within seconds.
Potential business
A dressing room overhaul has made for a busy summer at the City Ground, but Nottingham Forest’s transfer business might not be over just yet.
The Reds have brought in 21 new faces, most recently adding Willy Boly, Loic Bade and Josh Bowler on deadline day last week - with the latter going straight out on loan to Olympiacos. Meanwhile, over the course of the summer, a significant number of players headed in the opposite direction, either on permanent or loan deals.
With the window now closed in England, Forest cannot make any more signings from another club. However, free agents can put pen to paper at any time.
Defender Serge Aurier is still likely to link up with Steve Cooper’s side, having been waiting for a visa and work permit to be sorted. He has been targeted to provide cover and competition for Neco Williams at right wing-back and is without a club after leaving Villarreal.
