Nottingham Forest make ‘offer’ to player with £9 million transfer release clause

Nottingham Forest are one of two clubs to reportedly make an offer to Spezia goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski, ahead of a potential summer move.

Forest are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper this summer. Both Dean Henderson and Keylor Navas returned to their parent clubs this summer after spending last season on loan at the City Ground.

The Reds are keen to make Henderson’s move from Man United permanent this summer, but uncertainty over the future of David de Gea at Old Trafford has delayed any potential move. The Spaniard is now officially out of contract and is yet to agree a new deal.

It has left Forest looking at some different options, and it seems that Dragowski could be one. According to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb, Forest and Turkish side Fenerbahce have sent ‘offers’ with the player ‘evaluating’ before making a decision.

It was reported last month that the Polish international was ‘on the list’ for Forest this summer as Steve Cooper looks to bolster his squad. The 25-year-old is also said to have a £9 million release clause in his contract with his current club.

He played 34 times in Serie A last season, recording seven clean sheets. The goalkeeper has been with Spezia since 2022, after joining from Fiorentina.

As it stands, Wayne Hennessey would most likely be Forest’s first choice shot-stopper in the current squad. He spent the majority of last season on the bench after joining the club last summer.

The Reds have welcomed Ethan Horvath back from a successful loan spell with Luton last season. He helped the Hatters to gain promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs, and could potentially be used as backup for Forest in the new season.
