Nottingham Forest could part ways with midfielder Jonjo Shelvey this summer, just six months after he joined the club, according to reports.
The 31-year-old put pen-to-paper on a two-and-a-half year deal at the City Ground back in January as Steve Cooper looked to add more Premier League experience to his squad for the end of season run-in. But his move hasn’t worked out as well as many would have hoped.
Despite Forest securing their Premier League status with one game remaining, Shelvey was left out of the matchday squad entirely for the final seven matches of the season. It came after the midfielder reportedly reacted to being left out of the starting line up for the Premier League clash against Liverpool.

According to the Times , Forest are ‘looking to offload’ the player this summer, with Shelvey ‘keen’ to leave in order to get more playing time. He was not included in the celebratory picture after Forest’s safety was secured vs Arsenal, but was in attendance at the game.
Shelvey ended a seven-year spell at Newcastle when he arrived at the City Ground. But he has made just eight appearances for the club, and it now seems that he will be moving on in the summer.
Speaking about the midfielder back in April, Steve Cooper said that there was no ‘ill-feeling’ between him and the player.
He said : “He is really well liked in the dressing room, and we need everybody in the situation we are in and with the injuries we are picking up. There is no ill-feeling in any way, shape or form, regardless of what may or may not have been said.
“We just need everyone to stick together and get behind everybody. That's what we're doing.”
