Nottingham Forest, Leicester City and Leeds United have joined Southampton in the race to sign Leece star Morten Hjulmand, it has been reported.
The 23-year-old joined the Serie A side last January, helping the side gain promotion to the top division in Italy. Hjulmand was called up to the senior Denmark squad for the Nations League last summer, but remained as an unused substitute.
Despite not making the World Cup squad in November, his displays in Italy has caught the attention of other clubs. Along with Forest, Leeds and Leicester are said to have the player "in their sights", according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti.

Meanwhile, Southampton have also been credited with an interest, with Sky Sports reporting that the club were in early talks with Lecce over a deal to sign the midfielder. They have had one offer knocked back however, with Leece sporting director Pantaleo Corvino confirming the club rejected Saints' £9million bid for their player.
"Our best players will not be sold," Corvino insisted. "I do not deny the offers, I confirm them. It’s not rumours, it’s all true. Why can we reject figures far in excess of 10 million euros? We take risks. Going shopping with a full wallet is easy."
Hjulmand has been a regular in Lecce's squad this season, featuring 17 times and contributing to four assists. His contract is set to expire next year but the Italian side hold an option to extend his deal for a further year.
