Nottingham Forest 'interested' in €40m man as Jorge Mendes leads talks

Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in signing Benfica forward Gonçalo Ramos this summer.

The 20-year-old striker had previously been linked with a loan move to the City Ground in the January transfer window, but Jorge Jesus' sacking prompted regular starts in Liga NOS, scoring seven goals in 29 league appearances.

Steve Cooper is set to add a new striker to his squad this summer with uncertainty over the potential extension of Keinan Davis' loan spell from Aston Villa.

According to Portuguese outlet Record, Forest are interested in Ramos this summer, with Benfica open to selling their man for €40m (£34m).

They won't be alone in any pursuit for the Portugal Under-21 international, as the report claims German giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle United are also keeping tabs on Ramos.

Despite having a €120m (£103m) release clause in his contract at Estádio da Luz, the Reds could seal a potential bargain with a price of £34m. Record have added that super-agent Jorge Mendes is leading the negotiations for Ramos.
