Nottingham Forest have made Tottenham Hotspur defender Joe Rodon one of his ‘key targets’ this summer as Steve Cooper eyes a reunion with his former player.
Rodon played under the Reds boss during the duo’s time at Swansea City. The central defender moved from south Wales to Tottenham back in October 2020 but has failed to nail down a place in the starting line-up in north London.
The 24-year-old played a total of 10 times in all competitions last season with just three of those appearances coming in the Premier League. He could therefore move on this summer in search for more game time.

Rodon is a regular in the Wales starting line-up alongside Brennan Johnson and another transfer target in Neco Williams. All three played together as the nation booked their place in this year’s World Cup in the international break just gone.
According to the Daily Mail , Cooper is interested in bringing the centre-back to the City Ground this summer and has identified the player as one of two ‘key targets’ for the summer. Speaking about his international teammate, Gareth Bale sent a message to Tottenham over his lack of game time.
“For me personally, I feel like he should be playing at Tottenham. I think he’s shown time and time again how good he is, I think personally when I was there last year, I felt he deserved to be playing,” Bale said, as reported by football.london .
“I don’t feel like he’s really had the opportunity to play a consistent run of games at Tottenham and I feel like if he did, he would be fantastic for them.”
Forest are also said to be eyeing a move for Morgan Gibbs-White who also played under Cooper at Swansea as well as winning the U17 World Cup under the guidance of the Forest boss.
Latest reports suggest that Forest have ‘made an approach’ to Wolves over a potential transfer for the England U21 international. He has been linked with a move to the City Ground since the start of the transfer window.
